Social network giants Facebook has announced that it will be ushering its Food option to all users.Facebook is currently in a partnership with food delivery services to allow a Facebook food delivery platform that enables users order food directly from a restaurant’s page.
Procedure in ordering the food includes
Visiting the page of a participating restaurant
Press the start button that appears on your screen
A direction would be given to you to choose an ordering service and a time,and from there you get choose a food order from the menu.
This Facebook food delivery platform has been on testing for quite sometime now,It was first introduced in May,when it was given out to some users.Now it’s coming to everyone,with alot more food delivery partnerships.When it first started in May,it was only Slice and Delivery.com that was involved in the heavy lifting,but now the likes of GrubHub,ChowNow,EatStreet,DoorDash,Zuppler,and Olo are now available for Facebook users.
A platform is made for users to order directly from certain restaurants,including Chipotle,Five Guys,Jimmy John’s,and Jack in the Box.To locate a restaurant, you open the “Order Food”section(with a knife and fork icon)and search for restaurants with delivery and pickup options.
Speaking about the new Facebook food delivery platform to Alex Himmel, Facebook’s VP of Local:
“People already go to Facebook to browse restaurants and decide where to eat or where to order food, so we’re making that easier. We’re combining options from a number of restaurants and food ordering services, so you don’t have to search through multiple places
and eat what you want, in just a few taps.”
However.you need to open accounts with the food delivery services before you will be granted access to them.
The Facebook Food delivery platform is now available for all users on Android,iOS,and desktop.
