A failed bucket bomb attack was carried on the District line train at Parsons Green station in London.
These will be the fifth time a terrorist attack occured in London this year,
Police said they will be treating the explosion on the London Underground, which left 18 people hospitalized, as a “terrorist incident”.
Immidiately after the attack Emergency services,including fire officers,medics and police were all called to the Parsons Green underground station at exactly 8.20 am following the report of an explosion.
Police quickly called the explosion on the District Line train at Parsons Green station a “terrorist incident.” It was the fifth terrorist attack in Britain this year.
The Metropolitan Police released a statement assuring that the officers from its Counter Terrorism Command
were already investigating the cause of the explosion,meanwhile the Deputy Assistant Commissioner considered the incident an act of terrorism.
Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley was in affirmation with the Police Force that the explosion was caused by the detonation of an improvised explosive device.he also confirmed the involvement of British intelligence experts MI5 in the investigation.
The Assistant Commissioner has warned the residence of London of an increased police presence which might take place.
The assistant director of operations at London Ambulance Natasha Wills confirmed that 18 people had been admitted following the terrific incident, though none were thought to be in a serious or life-threatening condition.
British Prime Minister Theresa May,released a statement about the incident “my thoughts are with those injured at Parsons Green and emergency services who are responding so bravely to this terrorist incident.”
One of the passengers in the train Peter Crowley narrated his experience; “I heard a large bang from the doors on the other side of the tube train and this fireball came towards my heard and singed off all my hair – I have got burn marks at the top of my head. Everyone just ran off the train, it was quite scary.”
“It was a really hot intense fireball above my head, I’ve just got red marks and burns to the top of my head. There were a lot of people a lot worse than me.”
The perpetrator or the perpetrators are not yet being arrested but hundreds of detectives are already down for the hunt for this evil doers.
All services have been suspended between Edgware Road and Wimbledon,and people are been advised to avoid the area of the terrific explosion.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan released a statement condemning the attack.
“Our city utterly condemns the hideous individuals who attempt to use terror to harm us and destroy our way of life,” he wrote in a statement shared on Twitter. “As London has proven again and again, we will never be intimidated or defeated by terrorism.”
Home Secretary Amber Rudd also thanked the emergency services and said her thoughts are with the victims.
The UK terror level has raised its threat level to critical after the London Tube explosion.
