As the LiAngelo shoplifting saga continues to trend online, the father of the UCLA freshman decided to give his take on the matter. In a new interview with media giants CNN, Lavar Ball(American media personality and businessman) insisted he won’t thank President Donald Trump for the release of his son who was arrested in China a couple of weeks ago alongside two of his friends for shoplifting.
The three UCLA students (LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley, and Jalen Hill) were arrested for allegedly stealing sunglasses from a Louis Vuitton store, next to the team’s hotel in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, where they stayed before they left for Shanghai to face fellow basketball team Georgia Tech.
American President Donald Trump claimed he personally asked the Chinese President Xi Jinping for his interference in the case.The President later issued out a call of gratitude from the players.

The President later got a thank you message from the players at a news conference later that day’where they apologized for their ill behavior and promised to turn a new leaf.President Donald Trump later got back to them through a message wishing them a “great life.”

However, throughout the whole situation Ball chose to remain silent on the matter, and once insisted that his son getting caught for shoplifting in a foreign country ain’t a big deal.
“Everybody gets stuck on the negativity of some things, and they get stuck on them too long. That’s not me. I handle what’s going on, and then we go from there” Ball also insisted that everyone should just forget about the LiAngelo shoplifting saga.
Trump didn’t take the comment likely as gave him a quick response
Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail!

On Monday night, Lavar finally got the long-awaited opportunity to break his silence on the whole LiAngelo shoplifting saga.In an interview with CNN Chris Cuomo, Lavar ball refuse to thank President Donald Trump for his son’s rescue.Lavar he would have given Trump a thumbs up if his son LiAngelo and his UCLA teammates were brought back on an Air Force One airplane.
Lavar insisted President Donald Trump was not the reason why son and teammates were released.
“Tell Donald Trump to have a great Thanksgiving because Big Baller is,” Lavar said to conclude the lengthy 22-minute interview.
Meanwhile, the LiAngelo shoplifting saga was not taken lightly by UCLA basketball team, UCLA head basketball coach Steve Alford said the three players arrested in China have been suspended indefinitely from the team and would have to undergo the university disciplinary review process.
