Villain group known as the Mutant Liberation Front are now confirmed to be taking part in the 20th century Fox’s X-Men cinematic universe.The group which was termed terrorist in the monday’s episode of the Gifted series.The Gifted series is only on its second episode,and is already making waves confirming the existence of Mutant villain group within its universe.
The whole team story came up when Reed Strucker(which was starred by Stephen Moyer) was questioned by Coby Bell’s Sentinel Service Agent Jace Turner.Turner labelled the Mutant Underground ground group as terrorist and also linked them to the likes of other terrorist groups such as the Brotherhood of Mutants and the Mutant Liberation Front.But Reed kept on insisting that the Underground is nothing like those other groups.The pilot episode of the Gifted that was being exposed -revealed that the Brotherhood of Mutants as well as the legendary X-Men,existed in the show’s universe.Meanwhile,this is the first time the MLF(Mutant Liberation Front) has been mentioned.
In the original 2000 X-Men movie,the Brotherhood appeared to be the key villains,and have been mentioned in the Gifted series pilot episode as an active group.The Mutant liberation Front on the other hand,originated in the comic books as the henchmen of stryfe in the new Mutants #86 by Louise Simonson and Rob Liefeld.Subsequent editions have been led by Reignfire,Dani Moonstar,and Domino.These group(MLF) were primary enemies with the X-Force,with their rivalry similiar to that of X-Men and the brotherhood of Mutants.
Gifted series star Coby Bell commenting about the series;
“They’re doing a lot of cool stuff that I think the audience won’t even realize until season two or season three if we can get that far that they’re planting right now,” Bell said. “They’re deep into that. They really want to give the fans what they want, and they respect where the fans are coming from and how loyal the fans are, so they don’t want to let them down. We’re working really hard not to let them down.”
The Gifted series airs on Mondays 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
