When EA released the FIFA 18 in September, it appeared to be the most perfect FIFA game ever. However, the introduction of the FIFA 18 Ultimate Team microtransactions has caused an uproar among EA fans and it seems this patch updates are unacceptable by them.
This game mode provides a platform where you earn coins by competing in Weekend Leagues, these coins are being used to buy/sell players in building your dream team.
This might sound interesting you but believe me, there are lots of loopholes. The packs are absolutely RNG. A gamer who spends $3 might get a better player than someone who hundreds of dollars. To me, this is absolutely crazy.
The most annoying part is that some abilities are now enhanced, like defending is now fully assisted and a goalkeeper can now save almost every shot no matter how good you think you are.
Majority of the EA fans are making use of various social platforms to complain about the FIFA 18 Ultimate Team microtransactions.
A Reddit post and a consumer campaign known as #FixFifa has been circulating online and has recorded over 25,000 signatures.
The aim of the ongoing campaign is to address various problems the FIFA 18 gamers are complaining including extending the FIFA 18’s Weekend League period and resolving the game’s microtransactions.
Also another Reddit user Gerrard393 expressed his dissatisfaction with the FIFA 18 Ultimate Team microtransactions.
“I know but, this new system called Ultimate Team really pissed me off more than ever. Same goes for other FIFA fans as well. We didn’t buy the game to witness this bullshit. We bought it after being Impressed with the demo…but now the freaking patch updates have changed everything we liked about FIFA 18! The pre-patch version was so good!”
This is not the first time EA has to deal with massive fan backlash. Not long ago Star Wars Battlefront II pulled out its microtransactions after Disney reportedly expressed concerns over its brand.
