Former Manchester City player Robson de Souza popularly known as Robinho has been sentenced to nine years in prison for sexual assault.The Brazillian sexual assault incident took place in 2013 while he was still playing for the Rossoneris(AC Milan).Robinho alongside five other men was found guilty of sexually assaulting a 22-year old woman in a nightclub located in Milan.
Although Robinho has been found guilty by the court in Milan, the Brazillian sexual assault sentence will not take effect until the appeal process is being completed.
In January 2009, was arrested by the police over allegations of a sexual assault at a nightclub in Leeds.He was later released on bail, fortunately for him, he faced no charges following an investigation by the West Yorkshire Police.
Despite the Brazillian sexual assault cases, his footballing career was just the opposite.
In 2008, the 33-year-old became the most expensive player in the history of English football when he joined Manchester City from Real Madrid for 32.5 million pounds.

Robinho who has won 100 caps for the Brazillian national team, has denied the charges so far and has the right to appeal, according to ANSA
